Forum Subject: How to survive the crisis

- 5800 MW of capacity installed in wind
- 2000 MW installed within last 2 years (soon about to finish OEM warranty)
- cost cutting pressure
- increasing role of independent suppliers and contractors
The dynamic growth of capacity in wind industry (ca. 2000 MW) within 2014-2015 was an absolute record in the history of the sector in Poland.
Unfortunately, already mid 2016 the green certificate market totally collapsed. The problems of the industry were aggrevated by introduction of the Wind Farm Location Act which in view of some interpretations increase the real estate tax basis as of 2017.
In this context following questions are even more important than before:
– How to lower the opex?
– Which strategies of wind turbine service to apply?
– How to act in the area of real estate tax?
– Ultimately – How to survive the crisis?
All investors that built at least one wind turbine in Poland are trying to answer those questions now.
Until now most of industry event were focused on investment phase, while operation phase was of secondary importance. Nowadays, the focus on optimisation od operating activities, cost reduction, additional revenue creation must be doubled.
The idea od WFOF was born based on the experience from similar events which have been existing for many year on more mature markets.
WFOF is the result of cooperation between Adam Jaworski (Tundra Advisory) and Mariusz Milewski (Suracon), who since 10 years have been active in wind industry in Poland.
The invited speakers represent leading players in the area of wind farm operations and independent contractors offering innovative solutions.
We invite to join everybody that deals with operating wind farms on daily basis, also banks and other entities from the industry for which WFOF might be a great source of valuable information and exchange of experience.
The organizers hope that WFOF will be become a cyclical event for wind industry in Poland.
